The writers maybe carried the snake thing as overkill but the biblical story of how the fallen angel and followers were condemmed to crawl on their bellies (like a snake) seems to be a basis for choosing snakes to represent evil. They can be really beneficial if you are a gardener (they eat mice and baby garden pests) unfortunately they do get a bad rap in general. I am surprised that Jared waited so long to have a paternity test done--She looked to be at least 7 months along--snakes usually don't take that long to hatch do they? Scientifically, it doesn't work that waybut TV can make up anything they want. Maybe he did see her stomach do funny things like wiggle and squirm. I wanted to know how Gracie's father had figured out what was going on and needed to save Gracie.
Just a dimwitted thought--OConnor was so adept at handling evil (snakes)--he refused treatment in the hospital--rose from his bed--and saved Gracie from evil. Parallel here?? The actor did a great job of playing this character! I was trying to remember if he was the same actor on Host--the supervisor in the waste water treatment plant??? Thought the glasses looked familiar.
One other thing--I did get the message that evil is impossible to destroy--it goes from place to place if discovered. What bothered me is how evil can assume any form and fool so many people.
Sory if I am "jumping"--been a long day.
