Subject: "En Ami" Questions

I'm actually passing on this question to the group that was posted on my fanfic list, 'cause nobody there had answered it. In "En Ami" Mulder tells Scully's landlord: "Do you know how many people have died in this apartment?" As far as the person posting the question could remember the only two people who have died in Scully's apartment were Melissa Scully and Pfaster. Have there been others? (I couldnt' think of any others. Although I guess having even two people die in an apartment during a five-year period is kind of high.)
Which brings me to a related question: Why did Mulder have to have the landlord open the door for him? In previous eps (i.e. "Redux") he's apparently had a key to her apartment?
