Subject: So that was Requiem - bring on Season 8!!!!!!!!!!

So, this might have been the last time we saw Mulder, if DD had decided not to renew his contract for S8? My God - how upsetting would that have been: Mulder walking into the light under an alien craft and then disappearing into the air. For all we know, never to be seen again and Scully PREGNANT!

This was a very good episode, parelleling as it did the events of the Pilot, re-introducing characters from seven years ago and basically showing us where Mulder and Scully have got to in that time. Scully is now no longer such a sceptic by first instinct. She is almost accepting of Mulder's view when it is the least obvious option. Mulder has come round to realise that she wants more out of life than chasing *his* quest. The scene in the motel bedroom was also very moving. Did everyone else think of the very first time Scully came into Mulder's motel room? How different but strangely the same this was. In The Pilot, Scully was upset and afraid and Mulder reassured her. In Requiem, Scully was upset, unwell and feeling insecure and again, Mulder reassured her and comforted her. Last time they hugged, this time they hugged, but how much more intimate this hug was. Aaaaaah. (Non-shipper being affected here)

Skinner also showed how much he has become their ally, even if he is still a bit influenced by the likes of Krycek. Krycek was wearing his best cruel face and was using his deepest, most cutting voice. Great! (SMH - Krycek was very hot in this one; especially with the hard stares) CSM gone? Presumably. Was Krycek also putting him down, to put him out of his misery, as well as venting his anger against CSM and every indignity he had suffered at his hands?

Here we had another anomale about the green vapour from the aliens. How come sometimes this stings people's eyes terribly and other times it just doesn't? Teresa Nemmen got terribly red and stinging eyes when her attacker 'died', but no-one did when that one disintegrated on the floor at the FBI's command post at the school.

I loved the episode. How could anyone not? And of course, I've got all the questions that watchers of S8 know the answers to, about Scully's baby. I mean, the hows, whys and wheres of her pregnancy, but mostly the hows! This was meant to be the big revelation and a big shock but I unfortunately found this out just after S7 ended in the US, so the secret didn't have that element of shock it should have had. Oh well. I'm now all fired up for S8. Hope the BBC rush to put it back on in the autumn. It's all I ask.

M: "I've never actually assaulted an auditor before"

M: "There's so much more you need to do in your life"

S: "I've seen things I cannot deny"

S: "Lets go waste some money"
