Subject: The snake 'V' moment
In reply to: detoured 's message, "Yeah they always feel they have to add that extra twist to make it an 'x-file'..." on 21:33:03 02/01/01 Thu

I was spooked enough by the realisation that Mackie was setting himself up as a priest in another parish. The mouse eating was totally unnecessary.

Also, on that topic, I wasn't clear why Mackie was 'Snake Man' anyway. He was presumably meant to represent the devil. Enoch should have been able to resist him because he was a righteous servant of God (according to his own beliefs). So should Enoch's daughter, the boyfriend and the other woman. Why did they suddenly all become vulnerable to Mackie/devil? They had faced snakes before hadn't they, and not been bitten?
