The thories that arose from all things in regard to that were: 'well Mulder could have been wearing boxers'. We did see him wear black silk boxers in bed in Fire and we saw him wear his gray J Crew boxers in Anasazi. Interestingly enough on both those occasions he had previously been unconscious and we were left to wonder if Scully was the one who had removed his pants (At least in the Anasazi instance).

Where was I? I got sidetracked by Mulder's underwear. ;-)

Another idea for 'all things' was that Mulder WAS wearing his usual PJ bottoms but they had just ridden up above the knee leaving it bare. Kind of a stretch but I told people after this first aired when we were all denying that anything had went on that if this had been any other TV series other than The X-Files, what had happened would have been plainly obvious. But because it's Mulder nd Sully and we know CC likes to tease, we all looked for other possibilites. There are even more ideas to explain away why Scully appears to be getting dressed with an open bathroom door.

It has been confirmed by Autumn Tysko that Scully is no longer wearing her pantyhose which she had been on the couch earlier. Also, the Official Site now has a summary of that ep and it does say that Scully is dressing (as opposed to the 'she was just rearranging herself after having been sleeping on the couch' ideas.)
