Is that there are regulars who pop up now and then which allows us to have them revisit us later on. The good thing about having later shows and then movies with the original characters is that you can have genuine flashbacks of or referrals to the original characters and happenings. I thought Requiem did a marvellous job of doing this. It really hit home to me when I saw the original people from the very first episode....a pilot which in most cases is only done with the thought that a show will never take off. It makes the show and the people in it more realistic and real. The same with the family members. This , I think will also help the 'new' X Files be more acceptable to those of us who would have preferred the show end now.
