Scully was praying to Bhudda. I mentioned above that I had a chance to visit a Bhuddism Shrine in Hawaii. The serenity there was what I felt. I happen to be a Lutheran Christian and certainly didn't experience a need to worship the statue. I think that the tranquility she found there allowed her to reflect inwardly as shown by the pictures in her mind. If she had been in a church, I wonder if she would have been inclined to pray and reflect as she had been taught as a Catholic Christian. I was taught to pray in any setting but to do so in tht shrine would have been quite difficult for me--maybe for Scully too.? When she had to pray in other episodes, she was shown in a church doing so. I don't know--maybe I am way off here.
