Maybe I'm just saying what you are already saying but I like your idea and what I'm getting from it is that you think maybe Scully saw Mulder up to this point as a 'woman' meaning more like just a friend, a gal pal, a buddy, as if he were just a friend to her. Scully doesn't have any close female friends. She was probably closest to Melissa. So Mulder was like her best 'girlfriend' to lean on and talk to.

But now she is seeing him as a MAN and realizes she is very attracted to him. He transformed in that episode forem Mulder the friend to Mulder the prosepective romantic partner. A whole new ball game.

Tht fits in with what some of us have suggewsted about M&S's fear of changing their relationship. They don't want to lose their best friends. But maybe what they have both learned is that they don't have to lose the friendship, just gain something else.

Hmm, that makes me like the ep more if that's what it was saying. Although maybe it isn't.

Is that what you were saying? Just hit me over the head with a hammer if I'm being redundant. ;-)
