a colloquial saying used in place of a variety of sayings such as "my goodness", "good heavens", "wow", "this thing weighs a ton", "that's a bummer", etc. It's supposed to be scandanavian in origin and has been attributed to originating with Norwegians here in the upper midwest. Sort of like the "ya sure, you betcha" line from the movie "Fargo".

I forgot about the "protect the mother" line--do you think that it also was a prediction for Scully? I'll have to go back and watch that one again just to get the context of the line.

I think that the Unnatural was a good episode for the two to find out how good it feels to be physically close to someone. They seemed (to me anyhow) to become more "chummy" after that episode. Their looks at each other seemed to be more 'loving' so to speak. Maybe I just have an overactive immagination!
