Good points Kenamom--CSM's paternity though I am still questioning. CSM comment that he couldn't kill the mother of his son (Cassandra) plus his comment that he had hoped his son (Jeffrey) would honor him a Bill Mulder's son (FM) did for him still makes me believe that each father has one son. Somehow I think that I need to watch 2Fathers-One son again but even then, I get the feeling that CSM is delusional about Mulder being his son.

Maybe the doctors messed up the brain surgery (intentionally???) which could account for CSM having problems. In Amor Fati though Mulder was shown to be aging (in his dream) while CSM stayed young--maybe CSM was hoping for a fountain of youth thing somehow?? In "real life" CSM has been aging faster than one would expect--due to his surgery?

Cshantal--the line "a part of his brain has been turned on by an unknown force" (or something like that) is what made me think that the piece of metal did this. If I remember right, it spun in circles and went flying across the room. Mulder started hearing the high pitched sound and voices when he came into contact with it and with the symbols on it which leads me to believe that the alien part in his brain (however it got there) was turned on this way.

Good answers from both of you--helps to start a different thinking path.

FX has been showing a series of past episodes dealing with brain activity, reading minds, etc. (Gibson was the latest). I wonder if this is intentional on their part to help answer these questions?
