Hi, Hairytoes, This is the same message I posted on the "Mulder & Scully" forum but it does explain the pregnancy. Kenamon also seems to have known this. I don't remember if you ever posted to the Scully & Mulder have a child storyline that Kande, Bwreck and I did on the old proxicom forum but this post references that story.

What an ep!!!! Can you believe that Chris Carter wrote it? I could kiss him. A whole season of clunkers and then---Whammo!---the big guns. This was one dense episode, tightly written, beautifully acted and directed. Refering back to Mulder and Scully's original abduction with the X on the road(though would it still be visible after 7 years?), Krycek still on board as possible alien, Skinner as Scully's temporary and doubting partner. And didn't you just love that skin-crawling scene with "rebirth of the conspiracy" overtones as our players gathered around the conference table. It gave me stomache cramps. And finally the line that no one guessed...."I'm pregnant."

How is it possible you ask? (you know that Skinner will) Was it en vitro fertilization during a memory suppressed abduction, was it an earthly fertility clinic implantation of the eggs from Mulder's freezer, was it alien or divine intervention? No, if you want Scully to be pregnant you do it the old fashioned way. You simply pack her off to darkest Africa and expose her to the restorative powers of an alien craft. It restoreth the soul to fishes and machete chopped guys and it giveth a functional set of ovaries. Then you stir up your heroine with old lovers and visions in a Buddist temple and PRESTO she's suddenly giddy and "fairly happy" and oh, yes....PREGNANT.

Of course, the child will still be influenced by aliens and Mulder's sperm may well be inhanced or something so if ever there was a tyke born to be kidnapped by Krycek, his transvestite lover Marita and their pocket-skinned, poker playing, double agent dog, Sparky this tyke would be that tyke.
