Subject: Season 7 so far...

I'm a big fan, I love the show but these last 2 seasons have not been up to snuff IMHO. They are not breaking new ground, they are running in place. I'm not sure I want them to do a season 8 if its more of this. Does Carter have a plan? I used to think so but now I think he's been making it up as he went along. My quick reviews:

Sixth Extinction: first part was great, second was a letdown. Why kill off Fowley off screen? How did Scully get a just operated on Mulder out of a high security building? The Duchovny written dream of Mulder in a normal life could have been a ep to itself and not deducted from the building 3 parter that came to a crashing halt.

Hungry: nice for a change, a monster of the week from the monster's POV but several goofy plot points.

Millenium: not just a letdown for fans of that show but for TXF as well. The millenium scare boils down to 4 zombies? Big deal. Same goes for the kiss, never mentioned again was it.

Rush: cool power, could have done more with it.

Goldberg Variation: good/lite ep, also needed more.

Orison: good sequel, creepiness is back-finally. Still too much like lots of previous eps.

Amazing Maleeni: could have been better, nice idea.

Signs and Wonders: had one guessing, snakes are cool. Once again, Mulder survives by dumb luck.

Sein und Zeit/Closure: big problem here. Now I don't know how the sister thing should have gone down but something better than this. She didn't have to be returned to Mulder alive but now she was dead all along? She was kidnapped by a UFO and then taken by spirits? I hate 2 X-Files on top of each other...did Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster show up too? They killed off Mulder's mother needleesly. The first part was good but I find this resolution unsatisfying. Anyone remember John Lee Roach? Did Mulder ever figure out that he didn't take Samantha? What about CSM being either Fox or Samantha's father? Who will answer that if Mrs. Mulder is dead?

X-Cops: nice, change of pace but conclusion also unsatisfying.

First person Shooter: not enough VR for me. Funny to see them in body armor but thats about it.

Theef: voodoo doll or something like that...ho hum.

En Ami: best of the season, Bill Davis should write more. Great work by him and Anderson.

Chimera: ok, nothing great.

all things: is this the Lifetime network? OK, good job by GA but another Mulder/Scully sleep together tease. She has more faith in alternatives...about time after all the times Mulder's been right.

Are these the last 5 eps ever? Better kick ass on them. Without Samantha, I feel Mulder has no quest with a real solution to get to. Will the conclusion just leave us in mystery? Open to another movie? Will they hop into bed at the end?
