Kinda scary, isn't it?

If they had to be far away from Peetie then why not take them to Vegas? Besides, didn't they already know by this point that Peetie had dug up his daughter's body? For all M&S knew, Peetie was carrying her around in a backpack. And speaking of grave digging, I guess Peetie was really good at putting the dirt back *exactly* as it was since nobody noticed it had recently been dug up.

It couldn't be a "dark and stormy night" since it was in California where it never rains, right?

No, *before* that. Scully hears Peetie break the car window so she pulls out her gun. Then she covers her eyes because she's apparently in pain. When her hand comes down she has those "I'm blind! I'm blind!" contacts in, just in case we couldn't figure it out ourselves from her saying, "I can't see!" Then she hears Peetie come in and she fires a couple of shots. *Those* are the shots I question.

And how convenient that Scully left her id in the car so Peetie could get a picture of her. I was half hoping he would make a snide comment about the color when he got a hair off the headrest.
