I can't believe I finally got in! Okay, back to the Theef discussion. There sure are some different opinions on recent episodes- Closure, X-Cops, and now Theef. (We've been on the same wavelength with those past few eps, haven't we, kande?) Actually, only five of us weighed in on Theef, so I'm not sure how balanced the scales really are. SMH and scullystar loved it while kande, yn and I disliked it. I'd like to hear what more people think.

I'd consider the "you keep me guessing" gag a blow to the MSR. Scully's behavior indicates no reason that Mulder would want to be with her, so rather than showing us a desirable, interesting side of Scully the writers have Mulder toss off the same line three times. I may not be for romance on the show, but if they're going to do it, they could at least try to make it believable. There are two connotations to "you keep me guessing" one that 's really romantic and sexy, another that's scary and insulting. I'm not disagreeing with DD's delivery of the line; I don't think there's really an other way it could have been done.

Okay, the "reason" Scully had to go to the cabin in the woods rather than a FBI safehouse is because Peetie's power supposedly weakens the farther away you get from him and his charm. But how far away could Scully have been? Mulder got up to the cabin pretty darn quickly after calling her. No arguments here, the cabin thing was really lame. I guess it should have been "a dark and stormy night" too.

Scully could see when she shot Peetie. Mulder pulled the nails out of the Scullyvoodoo doll's eyes before he went in, remember? (Note: Fanfic idea- What does Mulder do with the Scully voodoo doll after the case is over? .)

Theef definitely ranks above Closure for me because it was only isolated stupidity. No big repercussions here.
