I read this over at Fox and thought you might be interested. It's another take on the S&E/M&S parallel. I can't say I agree with it all but this person has some thoughtful ideas!

It's from someone named Snickus:

>>I was reading a few of the posts for X-Cops and I noticed that some people were upset about the politically incorrect characters of Steve and Edy. Personally, I thought they were funny, but beyond that, I think they were the perfect doubles for Mulder and Scully. By that, I mean that M and S are somewhat alienated from the rest of society b/c of their line of work, like how Steve and Edy are for their lifestyles. In both relationships, they're the only ones for each other. All I know, is when Edy said "He won't make love to me," Scully shoulda said, "I hear ya, sister." = ) C'mon, we all know she was thinking it! Also, after they left the house, Mulder was all bossy to Scully telling her to fill the car up with gas, kind of emphasizing that he doesn't appreciate her like how Steve doesn't appreciate Edy. What was interesting, is that it was the Scully double, Edy, that was afraid of being left. A fear Scully must have that the writers have never really explored. I dunno, I just thought the couples seemed like doubles, but maybe I was looking to deep! Anyone else think that? Or have I finally lost my mind?
<<<

So has Snickus lost his/her mind?! Obviously this person does sound like a shipper since they think Scully has thoughts of Mulder making love to her on her mind all the time. I don't think she does. (I do, but Scully doesn't! LOL)

I wonder if Gilligan had any thopught of S&E being compared to M&S at all. Or did he do it intentionally just so people would think they could be compared?
Interesting your thinking all characters could be compared to M&S. Who in he series do you think is most similar to them?

People are often complaining that we don't see M&S talk about this or tht (I know I am guilty of doing that too) but who knows all the discussions they may have had during their long car trips. And maybe you're right, Scully didn't want the cameras n the car because she needed let off steam and she was swearing a blue strek!

Mulder feeling pretty? What is this, West Side Story all of a sudden!?
