I agree. Mulder would not want to see the Samantha of today if she were still alive. She could possibly be quite insane as well.

I opted for the theory of CC never telling us what happened to Samantha, leaving it opened ended at the series' end. In effect that's what has happened. We witness along with Mulder a "paper trail" that may or may not be true; ie. to be used or changed in an upcoming episode even tho CC has said this is the end of Samantha. A show of hands please, of those that believe anything that comes out of his mouth anymore... um, hum, I thought so. ;)

Yet, at the same time Mulder has gained the "closure" he needed to get on with his life. And presumably, the XFiles. OK - ok, and with Scully as well ;)

What bothered me about the children we see is that we were told walk-ins were taken before the tragedy they were to experience happened. Yet Mulder was surrounded by lots of ghosts, or spirits, mingled in with the walk-ins of the children that did experience the horrors of Santaman and were murdered. I found that alittle confusing. Why would he see them as well?

Why was the little boy that led Mulder to the "glen" look so sad? Has that been discussed? All the other children were happy.

For an interesting but very negative review of Sein Und Zeit and Closure go to the below addy. Mr. McCown is a "jaded" fan who truly loves the XFiles still....he just doesn't know it. I find his "breviews" funny and informative, and more times than not I agree with him, maybe just not so negatively.

Go down to the botttom of the page for these two eps.

Later,
