Whew, Detoured, it looks like our Luke Skywalker vibes are back on track, b/c I pretty much agree about this ep. I didn't totally hate it, but I was thumbing through clothing catalogs picking out spring clothes while I watched it. And normally I do NOT multi-task during the XF! Gee...I wonder if Scully's attire could be why I kept thinking about getting those "all the rage for Spring" stretch blouses...

I thought Mulder was funny in this ep and didn't really think about him not being compassionate. I guess overall I thought the story was so goofy that any real seriousness would have been out of place. The M/S interaction was great. I love the way Mulder was watching Afterglow leave, and I loved the way Scully leaned over and blocked his view and then smiled the way she did. I noticed several times that she looked like she was about to crack a smile. I don't know if she just thought the dialogue was so funny, or Mulder was so funny, or DD was making faces at her or what, but as always, I love happy Scully.

I also love the fact that Scully got to be so tough in this ep, like when she told that guy he was going to be counting teeth, and then she got to break into the game and save the day. This coming from the person who didn't understand why men wanted to shoot up stuff and was so disgusted by Mulder "getting his ya yas!" I was totally LOL at some of her comments.

Wasn't all that "testosterone" conversation between M&S just awesome? For some reason, they sizzle just mentioning words like that.

But my absolute favorite part of the ENTIRE episode was when the pod opened and M&S were in there after doing battle, and her hair was all poofed out! THAT WAS GREAT!!! Has her hair ever looked so out of control? They seemed so dazed! They just both looked SOOOO funny. I dunno why, but that scene just had me ROTFL.

Overall, though, this ep was kind of dorky, and like Detoured said, TLG were totally wasted. It was great seeing them, though, and the M/S interaction and hot hot Mulder overflowing with testosterone saved it from being a total disappointment.
