My feeling exactly, det! For me, almost anything would have seemed pretty good after "X-COPS" but, at the same time, I don't see this becoming one of my all-time fave eps!

My feeling on this was really more that he was teasing Scully (and maybe even the Gunmen, a bit). That is to say, I think he was deliberately overreacting, not expressing his true feelings.

He's hers anyway!!!!

Yeah! We've seen this before. The only bad thing is, unless the Lone Gunmen or Skinner have been telling him, I don't think Mulder has a clue as to how *MUCH* it upsets Scully when he's missing, wounded, etc.

I agree!!

I'm really getting kind of tired of seeing Scully "save" Mulder — either literally or emotionally — in virtually every ep this season. He's beginning to come across as a bit of a wuss, who needs her to help him get out of every bad situation. I'd think Scully would be getting sick of it, too. I don't think this is necessarily even a male/female thing. What law enforcement official would want a partner who always had to be rescued?

Pretty much agree. The previews for the ep they'll be showing in two weeks look much more like a classic "XF" case.
