Subject: I thought he was joking
In reply to: detoured 's message, "Are you bringing up my Mulder shyness thread again!?" on 23:38:55 02/20/00 Sun

I really thought the "fill it up" line was a joke on Mulder's part. Shades of Morris Fletcher who told Scully to pump the gas since the tank was on her side.

I thought Scully's behavior was perfectly in character (I also mention this on the Scully forum). Uncomfortable with the investigation being filmed and exasperation at the autopsy. Even though Scully also investigates these "paranormal" crimes, she has never been comfortable airing those theories in public. She does it under the guise that she's protecting Mulder, but that's only part of it.

I think my favorite scene was at the end when Scully opens the door to see the cameraman and microphone guy cowering. She slams the door and says, "I hate you guys!" Hee-hee-hee!

I also liked the autopsy scene. Scully's total exasperation with having to calm that hysterical woman fretting over the hanta virus. Reminded me of the cockroach episode when Scully's in the convenience store. When Scully was talking to Mulder after the woman died, she kind of - I don't know how to describe this - jumped up and down to emphasize her point. Cracked me up!

krh, who's surprised no one has mentioned that this was yet another episode set in California (or at least not that I've read)
