I've heard lots of good remarks about making XF movies too, so I'm also looking forward to that! The thing with the series living on is that it would possibly be without CC and DD--that just can't happen. Of course, Scully/GA is great, but that's just taking too much off the show. It might have been about the 'cool' stories in season 1, but it's gone way beyond that now. At least, for me, I tune in to see what Mulder and Scully are up to, not which spooky monster will be on. And that is also a main reason I just did not like Hungry much at all--too M&S light for me. Anyway, before I continue to ramble on, which is easy to do when I'm talking about XF, the two rumors about what Millennium would turn into is really something. Beginning to paraphrase all of that stuff would fry my brain. *L* It's a long article, but I'll copy and paste it here for you all:

CARTER TO HELM REVIVED MILLENNIUM SERIES

LOS ANGELES, Ca (AP) - FOX Television announced that Chris Carter has
come to an eleventh hour agreement to produce a new paranormal series for
the 2000-2001 season. This came in the wake of news that the X-Files would
end its seven year run in May 2000.

"We're quite excited," said FOX Spokesperson Jane Turner. "The X-Files was
an anchor for our network throughout the 90's. We feel that Mr. Carter's
new vision will carry us into the next millennium."

The new series will actually be a radical new take on another Carter show,
Millennium. "Our ratings for the Millennium/X-Files crossover last November
were among the highest that FOX has ever seen," said Carter. "It shows that
the
public still thirsts for Frank Black."

Indeed, sources say that Lance Henriksen has already signed an
unprecedented seven year deal to reprise the role of Frank Black in the
restored Millennium. Black will return during the X-Files' series
finale, which reportedly establishes a firm connection between the the
Syndicate and the Millennium Group.

Rumors abound as to what direction Millennium will take. One source in FOX
says that the finale of the X-Files will lead to a group of extraterrestrial
children crash landing in Los Angeles and be placed under the care of
Millennium Group member Laura Means (the returning Kristin Cloke). Because
they
lived under higher gravity, the children would have super powers. Black and
Means would frequently cross paths with alien lackey Cancer Man. The X-Files
nemesis would be a recurring character, although he would be played by John
Colicos (William B. Davis has already said this would be his last season).
"The
addition of children would certainly broaden Millennium's appeal," said the
FOX
source. "We definitely
want to move the show to 7pm Sundays. Network television hasn't seen such a
family-friendly concept since 1980."

The other rumor, this one from a former cast member has Frank Black
awakening in an Iowa cornfield after having vanished 32 years ago (Black,
Mulder, and Scully reportedly travel via a wormhole to do battle on the
alien homeworld), only to find the Eaarth ruled by an evil faction of the
Millennium Group. Michael Ironside would reportedly play the role of Bill
Watts, son of Frank's former mentor Peter Watts. Together they would set
off to find Jordan Black, a brainwashed member of the evil Group. The
proposed title? Millennium 2032.

There is no word of what role, if any, that current X-Files leads David
Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will have. In the meantime both plan to keep
busy with feature films that are set to start shooting this summer.

Duchovny will helm Red Shoe Diaries: The Undiscovered Chapters, while
Anderson has signed as the lead for the remake of 1985's Legend of Billy
Jean.
