In reply to: Foxywoxy 's message, "Two scenes with Harold" on 00:06:32 02/14/00 Mon

One thing that just dawned on me in that motel room scene with Harold. As you said it was three AM and yet Mulder ws still in his dress shirt (a very nice shirt! :-) ) so he must have still been up and thinking about things. Well maybe not, Mulder does sleep in his clothes a lot. But did he seem like he'd been asleep?

I guess what botherd me was his initial response when he opened the door telling Harold it was 3 AM as if the guy was really intruding when Mulder had left him earlier hearing Harold say he could help him find Samantha. So it still seems like an odd change to me.

He did seem smirky though. I'm jsut still puzzled as to why he changed. I did like seeing him react to each thing Harold said and even though Mulder may not have fully believed Harold he is always portrayed as being so desparate for this kind of info that,as soon as Harold said his mother nted to tell him soemthing Mulder wanted to listen. So was what she said then the same as what she told him when he was in bed? What's rally wild is thst this is the strongest example we've gotten of Mulder being so in touch with the paranormal. Usually Scully sees he ghosts (Elegy, Beyod he Sea) and he doesn't. And can we call it a really strong Mother-Son bond that Harold couldn't determine what Mrs. M said because maybe she didn't want Harold to know and she told Mulder directly?

Also we go from Mulder believing in psychics and their use to Mulder becoming psychic himself and having a direct connection with his deceased mother.

Good point about people reaching closure at different times. Mulder probably saw himself at that moment when Harold bolted and said he didn't believe him. It was a good scene. And also interesting that early on, Mulder was ready to accept Sam's death because he wanted it to just be over.

I really liked the wa they had Mulder not go to the nurses house and let Scully handle that. It showed Mulder was still afraid to learn the tuth and yet he was close enough to here the conversation so he wanted to know the truth. His own conflicting front of that house.

I think I saw a spoiler or two about Sam being dead but I didn't know if it was speculation or someone just spouting rumors. Fox is loaded with posts from people who don't know what they are talking about so I just brushed the notion aside. One spoiler I did get was from a radio commercial this weekend. They played a clip of Mulder saying "Samaatha" and I thought it meant that he would be reunited with her or think he had been or that he hd dreamed it or something. You known when this show hit the three quarter mark it seemed like it could have ended at that point. But then I knew the "Samantha" line hadn't come up yet and he was going to see her. I was really surprisd thought with the way it played out.

Hey! Your'e right! Cassandra probably saw a clone.
