Actually, I think the MSR is more likely to continue developing *with* Mulder still involved in the X-Files than without. They'll spend more time together and still depend on each other more than if he left or became less devoted to the X-Files, IMO.

And I also agree that Mulder will never be "normal", LOL. And, as much as Scully dreams about a normal life, I think she would be bored to tears if she got her dream after all these years with Mulder and conspiracies, aliens, etc.
