as I work with quite a wide variety of both men and women in my job. It's easy to spot the ones who are taking up a desk and doing only what they need to versus those who take their jobs seriously and put in the time plus just work their tails off both at work and at home. Those who are taking up desk space all seem to have similar characteristics which aren't productive for their job requirements, meaning they are lazy to the 'max' and irritate the bejabbers outof everybody they come in contact with (and unfortunately all but one are men.)

I think, at least in my job, how one looks doesn't really matter--it's more of how one acts, speaks, and des the job that counts. We aren't our jobs as you said--but I think there are factors within each of us that are responsible for what we do and how we perform.

Like I said, I think Scully has spent so much time cutting up dead bodies, chasing Mulder and aliens, and spends too much time around FBI agents who must possess similar traits in order to be working as an agent, that she may find it refreshing to spend time in the company of another type of personality or persona.
