It seems that we are never to be treated to a Scully who fancies an ordinary guy. But if she did, wouldn't that make us conclude that she was just an ordinary woman? If the writers suddenly had her fancy a handsome available guy, in the Mulder mould, shippers everywhere would be most affronted! *I'd* be most affronted, and I'm not a shipper! So, if we are shown that Scully gets a bit turned on by the slightly outrageous danger man, may not that be just a fantasy? Men and women imagine 'interacting' with all kinds of visons of dangerous people, in their fantasies, and we have seen in TXF that Scully is not hoping to spend her life with the wild men, but more that she likes to savour their interest in her. I hate to say this, but it might all be Mulder's fault that she turns her mind towards the outlandish, when he has proved fairly unattainable. One thing I am surprised at - she *is* meant to be a strong woman, so if she does indeed want Mulder, instead of questionable creepy whackos - why doesn't she try coming on to him??????
