I think with those episodes it's just a matter of strange legends and folk tales that occur in different cultures. The Chupacabra is a real legend in Latin American countries. I asked a friend from El Salvador about it once and he knew just what I was talking about and even gave me a description!

And with Fresh Bones, Haiti is of course well known for its voodoo culture. That other ep is Teliko, btw. ;-) It was only the second full ep of the series that I ever saw, or really the first one when I'd decided to start watching the show on a regular basis to see what all the fuss was about.

I don't know why there aren't more non whites cast in US cases. It's a major oversight on 1013's part.
