I thought I'd finish reading it before commenting but maybe I shouldn't have. I liked the book but I'm not sure I'm crazy about the rending. I'm also not sure what it means. Ahh, it's like an x-file! It reminds me of TXF in some ways. There's a character in it who's a mestizo. Remember the guy from Vienen?

I like the setting of it a lot though. For some reason I love things set in harsh, cold climates and also things set on ships. This has both. The book is about some people trying to retrieve a meteorite in the Antarctic.
Well I don't want to *not* recommend it because I'd like to talk to someone else who's read it. ;-) As I said, I liked most of it but the ending I'm not so sure how I feel.

If you want to give it a try it's by Douglas J. Preston and Lincoln Child. One of their books was turned into a movie (The Relic).

I don't have any qualms about the Potter books being "for kids". I know they are popuar with adults as well. And some of the best classic fiction is children's literature.
