Subject: Hello, Goodbye...and Happy Holidays

Dear Fellow Shippervillians;

I just dropped in to wish you all a festive Holiday Season. As you know you are all close to my heart. However, the show is no longer a priority in my life and (while I know you don't really care if I watch or not) I kind of feel like the wet blanket of shipperville these days. My heart just isn't in the contributing. Please know that everyone here is EXTRA SPECIAL and more than worth the occasional visit but I have scaled way, way, back on everything but my own writing.

Just to make sure I check back in ONE more time however, I am posting this message and the following poem for your feedback. It's an old favorite of mine.

MEOWY CHRISTMAS

Two weeks before Christmas

And all through the flat

Holiday decorating's

been redone by the cat.

This year celebrating

the birth of our Lord

she's woven some tinsel

through the telephone cord.

Candycanes have been nibbled,

the eggnogs been sipped,

the frock from the tree-top

perched angel's been stripped.

The whole tree has come down

at least twenty-five times

pine needles are scattered

about from her climbs

So I put the tree out

cause I keep the cat in

and set down to write letters

to my far away kin.

Which is when I first noticed

much to my surprise

the Nativity Scene is

now short a few guys.

Kitty's purloined a wiseman,

a pig and some sheep

but, "THANK GOD!"

Baby Jesus is still fast asleep.

RABID/RAEANN
