Actually, it HAS been done, and although the gun portion is not functional (only the trigger works), the blade looks very sharp indeed. I imagine this baby went for thousands, and I'm not sure how many were made, but someone out there has a real, life-size, solid metal (yeah even with the etching and chain) gunblade. Oh, by the way, the creators of the replica(s) are located in Japan, so even if you fanboys scraped up enough cash from your mom's purse, you'd have a tough time getting that baby into the country unless you carry yen and are friends with the people who work customs. Anyhow, I tried to find a picture to share but the news story was so old, the gaming site that published it seems to have deleted both the article and any pictures that went along with it. For basically the same info I just gave you, you can check out Square Source for partial (ie no pics) coverage.
