Spender/Fowley = Doggett/Reyes???

Is it just me, or does the possible next season pairing of Doggett/Reyes as the "partners" investigating the X-Files bring up unpleasant memories of the Jeff Spender/Diane Fowley matchup from Season Six?? In both cases, it seems we have basically the same set-up: A man who's not so much actively evil as totally clueless partnered with a woman who is a complete B***H!!
In case anyone thinks I just hate all women F.B.I. agents other than our beloved Scully, I would like to go on record as saying I really liked Carla Stonecypher from "Detour" and have always hoped she and her by-the-book partner would make another appearance!! I also liked Holly, the F.B.I. researcher who made several appearances in Seasons 3-5, but seems to have disappeared from the premises!
