Subject: The Bill Junior/Dogsbreath connection

Glad to know I'm not the only one who sees a *LOT* of similarities between the way Dogsbreath treats Scully and the way Bill Junior treats her. They both act, quite frequently, as though she's a "little girl" who needs a big, strong male to "protect" her. . .not just physically, but from things that might upset her. Mulder, in contrast, will protect her when she *needs* protecting, but respects her and treats her as an intelligent adult.
I can cut Bill Junior more slack on this issue than I can cut Dogsbreath. Bill Junior really *IS* Scully's big brother, so when he acts overprotective I can just kind of roll my eyes and say "That's the way brothers are". However, when a male co-worker — especially one who's only known her a few months and who has less experience with the bureau than she does — adopts this attitude toward a female co-worker, it comes across as blatant male chauvanism.
