really doesn't even *WANT* to "give Doggett a chance". Given that this is the "Supporting Characters" board and we have a picture of Skinner up, speaks directly to my problem with adding RP to the cast. . .
For *YEARS* both DD and Mitch Pileggi *BEGGED* CC to promote MP to the status of "third lead". DD desperately wanted to do more Skinner-centered eps (also more Lone Gunmen-centered eps and even an occassional Krycek-centered ep) in order to give himself and GA a more normal work schedule and, hence, a more normal life. CC refused.
So, what happens when DD finally puts his family above his career (AFTER honoring the 7-year contract he had in place)?? Does CC let Scully "go it alone" and start utilizing more of the supporting characters we've come to know and love over the years??
NO!! Now, he decides that it's "okay" to have a third lead, but apparently only as long as it's *NOT* MP!! I just feel adding RP to the cast as the third lead is an insult to MP, who deserved it. To a certain extent, it's even an insult to Nick Lea.
I'd much rather see more Skinner and more Krycek and more of Scully's family and see Doggett � if we had to see him at all � as kind of a secondary character, much the way Skinner and Krycek themselves were in Season Two.
