My father has an obsessive, compulsive interest in Texas history, and the Alamo in particular, compared to which my own interest in XF is as nothing. Some of this has rubbed off on me over the years and quite frankly I just *CANNOT* picutre RP as Jim Bowie!!
I didn't realize they were actually going ahead with this film. There's been talk about it for years, but things always seem to get bogged down. Is Ron Howard still going to direct it? Are they actually filming it in Texas or just in a Hollywood studio?
Well, anyway, my father will probably want to go out to the set and supervise or something, to make sure all the details are historically accurate. So if you read a news story about RP getting into it with an elderly man who has a problem with his interpretation of the role of Jim Bowie. . .that will be my Dad!
