I got to wear my 2002 Scully Marathon t-shirt while watching this one! Woo-hoo!

This is one of my favorite Scully-the-MEDICAL-doctor episodes. Frank Burst has a heart attack and she administers CPR for, what, a minute and a half? I mean, I wouldn't want to give him mouth-to-mouth either, but really. This one also has one of my favorite Mulder moments. He's wearing the bullet-proof vest and the mini camera/microphone, and as he walks past the ER reception desk he holds up his FBI badge and says, "FBI. Go on about your business." Sure, man, no problem. This happens all the time.

But getting back to Scully. At the hearing, when Mulder is trying to convince the judge that Modell "pushed" his will onto others, Scully looks embarrassed. I've always thought it was because Mulder was spouting one of his out-there theories and he's her partner. But this time I wondered if it was because she couldn't come up with a scientific explanation. In that respect, she let Mulder down. As she said, she believed Modell was guilty, but needed something more solid than the "whammy" to go on.

And, of course, it was Scully who saved Mulder's scrawny butt at the end. As hurt and upset as she was that he pointed the gun at her, she knew he wouldn't pull the trigger.
