Subject: Loneliness is a choice
In reply to: kenamom 's message, "I don't think Scully was ever 'Lonely'...." on 19:10:46 06/06/02 Thu

One of my favorite lines. I agree, KM. Scully could have found a husband and lived the traditional life, but it's not what she wanted. So, she put up with the loneliness because it was better than the alternative. Although who knows why she stuck around with Mulder for so long, the way he always viewed her as an afterthought.

As far as if she attracted to him, I think she was. Actually, maybe attracted is the wrong term. Drawn to him is better. As creepy as he was, you have to admit the man was interesting. And he did know a lot about Scully. How can you just walk away from a man like that? I know I wouldn't be able to.

I liked this episode because Scully was portrayed as desirable for the first time, pretty much. I mean, WE all know how sexy Scully is, but not because the show portrays her that way. I know that one of the great things about her character is that she isn't like all the other women on television, but it seems ridiculous to me that we never really get to see that side of her. It DOES exist, after all.

Unfortunately I didn't get to watch this episode! I got sent out of town for work on three days notice and my hotel sucks. From now on I'm only going out of town if I can find somewhere with a DVD player!
