that I'm boycotting the Mulderless eps this season! Maybe it's just sour grapes or rationalization, but it HONESTLY doesn't seem that I'm missing much. Apparently every episode features Dogsbreath (the show's "manly man") rescuing lil 'ole Miss Scully from the bad guys. If I want that I'll watch a Roy Rogers/Dale Evans movie!
The shows also seem to be scoring high on the "gross out" factor, which is not my thing at all.
On a related event from this episode (this part is similar to one of my posts on the shipper board), I think Scully's extreme concern for her unborn baby shows that she did not get pregnant against her will or without her knowledge. Given Scully's religious beliefs, I don't think she would ever deliberately seek to end her pregnancy, no matter what the circumstances of conception were. However, if she truly had no idea who had impregnanted her, how she got pregnant or even if the child was fully human I think the normal reaction would be for her to be a lot more. . .conflicted. The way she's behaving seems to indicate very clearly that her baby was conceived in love and that she believes her child may the only link she now has to her much beloved and now missing partner.
