Author: Scully'sMyHero, whose Scully doll was abducted by her neice.
Subject: One of my favorites!

I think that Ice was a big episode was far as Mulder/Scully development. Looking back from where we stand now, it's hard to believe that there is any circumstance where Scully would pull a gun on Mulder. Even though it seemed justified, I don't think Scully would *ever* do that now, regardless of what the consequences might be. I might even say that I doubt Scully would pull a gun on Mulder at the end of this episode.

I think the Scully development in this episode resulted from the fact that this was the first time she was in a completely hostile environment except for Mulder. In all episodes prior Scully never had to make a tough decision in regards to trust because she was always in the "real world", so to speak. Here she is all alone and forced to decide where she stands with Mulder. I think that it was a hard decision for her to go into that room with Mulder all alone. Not only because she had to decide to trust him, but she also had to face him after she had sided with the others.

I think the scene where Mulder and Scully examine each other is one of my all time favorites and indicative of the fact that from now on they trust each other and are not scared to turn their backs to each other, quite a different state than at the beginning of the season.
