(She stopped in her tracks, turning to look at him with a dry fury in her eyes. He made her so angry she could spit.. and she would never ever spit, it was not ladylike. Instead she just muttered a profanity and looked over at Destin. She would get his shipping gear and get him ready to go.. what did that guy know about anything anyways.. she wanted her baby home so she could baby him. She fumed all the way back to the trailer and then all the way back to the barn. She seethed the entire time she buckled Destin's blanket and put on his shipping boots, and even while she put the shadow roll on the nose band of his halter. She clipped on a lead shank and opened the stall, leading the gelding out and into the sunlight. She shook her head and let out a frustrated sigh.. the nerve of that guy! Destin dropped back a step and she tugged the lead, turning to look and stopping dead in her tracks. The gelding had his ears back and a tense look in his eyes. She tugged again and he turned to nudge his own side, nickering before nervously paced forward. She tensed, shaking her head as she recognized some of the signs.) Destin.. c'mon buddy.. we're goin' home. (She soothed her boy, tugging again lightly, whimpering as he went down to his knees, rolling to his back and grunting. She tugged the lead and he tried to stand but let out a groan and laid on his side. She looked around and tugged again.) Destin.. c'mon.. get up.. (She pulled in a futile way against 1200 pounds of warmblood that had no intention of moving.. tears filled her eyes and she pulled off his shipping boots, trying to give him some easier movement, but it wasn't helping. She didn't realize the crying sounds came from her as she called Josh's name, jogging towards the barns, slipping on the cement in her boots, but making it.) Josh.. help.. it's Destin.. (She said though her tears.. looking for all the world as if her best friend had died.)
