I think she might have left in between seasons. At least that's when I heard the actress had left the show. They said nothing about it at first the opening episode this year and then Lindsey got a letter from Stella. The new CSIer, Sela Ward, is kind of odd. I'm not sure what I think of her character yet.

I guess some people might not have liked Lindsey and Danny getting together but I don't think it will be reponsible for the show's downfall. Actually CSI:NY is much better than CSI:Vegas right now. My family is getting fed up with how gruesome the Vegas one has gotten.
I'll still watch it but the writing has really gone down while CSI:NY has gotten better.

I think all the CSIs will run their course eventually. I haven't heard that they've planned any for any other cities.
