Subject: Something a little silly on two TV shows

This is something I've seen on various TV shows over the years (although I'm pretty sure Scully never did it on XF), but I noticed it especially this week as the same basic device was used on both "Castle" on Monday and "NCIS:Los Angeles" on Tuesday.

The situation is this: the team needs to make contact with some sort of highly connected bad guy who mostly hangs out in an exclusive club. So they decide the best way to do it is have the female team member dress sexily and walk into the club. And, of course, she's so breathtakingly beautiful that the bad guy immediately notices her, calls her over to his table, etc.

Oh, come on!! One of these shows is set in New York City and the other in Los Angeles. Are we *really* supposed to believe that when an undercover law enforcement agent walks into an exclusive club in a city full of super models (NYC) or movie stars (L.A.) she's going to be the most gorgeous woman there??? That she's SO attractive that she'll cause a security conscious criminal to drop his guard and start discussing his private business with her??
