It was terrible. He was a serious smoker, too, not a few here or there, so his clothes and apartment smelled like it, and being in his place for too long made me smell like it. I hated it, but I liked him so I put up with it. That and his scotch breath, yuck.

I smoked a few cigarettes here and there when I waited tables. Sneaking out back for a cigarette was the only way to take a break on a really busy night, but I quit waiting tables in 2004 and haven't had a cigarette since.

None of my friends smoke, though my younger sister does. She used to smoke a pack a day but has been cutting back due more to the cost of cigarettes than out of concern for her own health. She is down to about three cigarettes a day now.

I think CW is right that a lot of those campaigns are money from tobacco companies, and from what I hear the incidence of teen smoking is going down regularly so may be it's doing something.
