I've seen in several places (zap2it.com, E! News, CNN ticker), that Reiko Aylesworth (Michelle), Carlos Bernard (YumTony), James Badge Dale (Chase), and all supporting CTU cast (Chloe, Adam, Hot Asian Agent) have been told that their options will not be picked up for next year but that they may be brought back for guest appearances. Also, they want to bring Kim back but because she's getting so many film offers she's not sure yet if she'll return for a full time position. I haven't heard anything like that about Dennis Haysbert, but in an interview I saw with one of 24's writers he said the only person who has a contract for next year is Kiefer. Also in an interview Kiefer said that next year is going to be drastically different from the first three. Speculation is that Jack may be be sent overseas for a mission, like when he was sent overseas for the Drazen mission, and any guest appearances would be support from CTU back in L.A. Who knows if that will happen, but it would explain the fact that they're not keeping any of the CTU regulars as full time cast.

KS, I think Jack was crying because he's NOT as sensitive. He can't be. And he wishes that he could feel the way Chase and Tony do. That maybe he'd made the choices they made in life. But now he's made his bed and he has to lie in it. He's dedicated his life to something, and he won't allow himself to act the way others do.

I was thinking about it, and if they were desperate to have Saunders be killed just before identifying the guy with the virus, they could have had Adam freak out and shoot him. We'd be a little more invested in that, it would make more sense for him to be there, and he knows more about Saunders than Mrs. Gael does. Although that may have been over the top as well. I think the best route would been for Saunders, realizing that Kiefer is out in the field and unable to kill his daughter, goes back to his original plan and refuses to identify the carrier. He wouldn't even have to make a big deal about it, just say that none of them were the guy. They could have done a little focus up on the screen as he said no with some ominous music to let us know without CTU knowing. It made me mad how they took this EvilSexy terrorist and turned him into a super compliant baby.
