I have read that the reason there are more men "Jeopardy!" champs than women is because that, while women actually get a higher percentage of the questions right, they are less likely to bet big when they stumble upon daily doubles. From what I've seen, this seems to be true. I"ve seen *LOTS* of men say, "Let's make it a true daily double, Alex," but I don't think I've ever seen a woman say this. Most investment counselors also say that women tend to be more cautious and conservative in their investments than men do.
Here's another theory I read recently about why we see more men as game show champs and CEOs -- I'm not saying I believe this, but it's interesting -- the theory is that men are more likely to be either really smart or really dumb than women are. The article cited statistics like: the vast majority of high school droputs are male, but so are the vast majority of people who earn advanced degrees (i.e. Ph.d's, medical degrees, law degrees, etc.), According to the article, women are more likely to have "average" levels of intelligence and get "average" levels of education (i.e. graduating high school and maybe getting a bachelor's degree from college, but not continuing beyond that point) while men tend to be at one extreme or the other.
