better not ever say that to me. What a sexist pig. Women don't typically go after advanced degrees because the "typical" jobs or careers women are encouraged to go into don't require anything more than a bachelor's degree. I did my research paper for my Specialist Degree (noPHD available at that University) in School Administration on women in the job of Shcool Superintendent. What I found was that many women are not encouraged to go on for advanced degrees, if they are married with families they just didn"t have time or the money, and that men are pretty good gatekeepers when it came to hiring a woman as a HS principal or Superintendent.

The "Good Old Boys " network has been and still is pretty powerful at "keeping women in their place!" GRRR--it still riles me when that happens.

I suspect that one of the reasons men are more successful at game shows stems from a competative nature which seems to be nurtured and ingrained into boys. Yes girls can be competative but many back down if they are up against a guy. I saw a lot of that as a Physical Ed. teacher--both elementary and HS. I don't do that but that's just my nature. Growing up in a neighborhood of mostly boys tends to foster that competative characteristic.
