My favorite moment so far was when the American men won first and second in that swimming event. It wasn't so much Michael Phelps -- who everybody expected to get gold -- as the other guy (Eric Vent, or something like that) who got silver and seemed so happy and surprised and went bounding across the pool to his teammate.
As for the other part of your question, det. . .um, we're a sports oriented family, but some members of our family are more sports oriented than others, and some sports appeal to us more than others. My husband, son and younger daughter are the real sports fanatics; my older daughter and I are less so. We did go to an Astros game last month while we were down in Houston, but the main sport everbody is obsessive about in Texas is football (any level, from high school to pros) and the main sport I actually watch on a regular basis is soccer, since that's what my two younger kids play.
