Freaks and Geeks and Joan of Arcadia have a similiar feel in that they are "teen" shows that are quite different than the usual, but Freaks and Geeks really reminds me more of My So-Called Life, which is, of course, the main angst outlet for girls of my age. Both F&G and MSCL focus on the groups of students that are different and because they're different they face riducule and feeling of displacement and the general horror of high school that so many teens know. Joan of Arcadia doesn't quite have that same feel to me, even though it does have much of the unique factor.

I think I have to agree that Freaks and Geeks is better than Joan of Arcadia. The fact that I literally couldn't stop watching it was a pretty good indication.

A friend of mine has got me into watching the show Sports Night on DVD. It's another short lived series that got critical acclaim but that I didn't watch first time around. After we finish watching that series I'm going to get her into Freaks and Geeks.
