Spoilers for the pilot two parter (or one part two hour movie, however you saw it).

I really liked this series! Lots of interesting characters and I've always been drawn to premises dealing with a group of people in a confined and/or desparate situation.
So what's the deal with the monster things or whatever the heck they are? At first I thought maybe they'd gone back in time and landed somewhere with some dinosaurs. But then we had the polar bear. Perhaps they are some kind of mutant creatures and the island is contaminated by some chemical substance. If so I would worry about the pregnant woman who ate a piece of fish from the water. There has to be some significance to her baby suddenly waking up after she ate the fish. She said it hadn't moved for a long time.
I think the guy on the beach who plays backgammon (X-Files Terry O'Quinn) may have already been on the island and wasn't part of the plane crash. He just seems awfully calm and mysterious. Hmm.

Is the french woman whose voice they heard still on the island or is it just an abandoned tape loop? What was Kate going to jail for? What was the secret the backgammon man told Walt (the little boy). What's up with the Asian husband and the way he treats his wife? What is the story about the big guy Hurley (who looks like Hagrid from Harry Potter). There must be more to him than has been revealed.
What is Shannon's (the whining sister) problem?

Well I think it's very exciting and should be a good show but so help me if anything happens to that yellow labrador there's going to trouble from me!
