being "finished" in a matter that you have to pay for. I've watched (or heard of) several shows in the past few years that began as free shows on broadcast TV, but then either moved to a premium cable network or were cancelled and had the rest of their season come out on DVD.

For example, "Jake 2.0" began on the now-defunct UPN, but then finished out its season on the Sci-Fi channel. "Kidnapped" began as a season-long mystery on NBC, got cancelled after seven or eight eps, then the complete season was released on DVD.

So you'll probably be able to find the "answer" to the mystery, but my guess is that the network will cancel it if the ratings are bad and you might have to either buy it on DVD or subscribe to some sort of cable channel to watch the whole thing.

I actually think that, within a few years, "free" TV channels will only broadcast sports, news and reality shows in their entirety and will basically just serve as "preview channels" for scripted dramas and sitcoms; they'll show half a dozen eps of these types of shows, then you'll have to buy them on DVD or subscribe to cable channels if you want to watch the entire season.
