Subject: The 10/23 ep (spoilers)
In reply to: CW 's message, "Now I have! (spoilers)" on 16:38:00 09/29/07 Sat

It was a good ep and I really enjoyed several of the scenes --- like Abby imitating Gibbs and Tony and "Timmy" (McGee) wrestling in the doc's waiting room -- but a couple of things confused me
1.) Did that couple in the teaser have *anything* to do with the rest of the ep? Or was it just thrown in to get a sexy scene at the beginning of the show, in an attempt to snag viewers who might be channel surfing?
2.) Tony's original theory of the wife being a "Black Widow" who had killed him in order to get his money made absolutely NO sense!! The guy was a junior Naval officer; I'm sure they're paid decently, and have insurance and stuff, but I doubt it's anything extravagant. Yes, they'd mentioned he came from a wealthy family, but so what?? His parents are obviously still alive and I doubt they would have "paid off" his widow, especially if they thought she'd driven their son to suicide by leaving him the week before he took his own life! Just because the victim came from a wealthy family doesn't mean he, personally, was rich! It seems especially absurd for *Tony* to have been the one who came up with this theory, because it's been mentioned in the past that although his parents are rich they don't "share" any of the wealth with him and he has to support himself on his NCIS salary. So. . .why would Tony think the victim's parents were more generous than his own are??
Sorry if I sound a bit rabid on this subject, but I've seen it in other TV shows and books and the idea that young adults with wealthy parents are automatically "rich" themselves is simply stupid. My own husband's parents are *exceedingly* well-off, but our family is NOT. My husband and I have supported ourselves (and, later, our kids) since the day we got married. Killing my husband (not that I have any intention of doing so; I love him) would not suddenly make me a rich widow, despite my in-laws wealth.
