I agree that meeting your father as a kid would be a little wierd. Pictures are one thing but to talk with him is another.

I thought of that space-time-paradox also and wondered what would happen if these two would actually share the same space--I think that's usually the no no. The movies that I've seen with the time travel thing like this usually use this to kill off the villain. They coerce them to run into each other or some such thing and then they implode or disappear somehow. I think Derek likes to watch Kyle which is why he goes there. I'm sure he misses him.
