Subject: BDM, I'm so proud

I got broadband last week and the first thing I did was download Sarah Jane Adventures. It was great. I love it. I hope the series goes just as well, if not better. As for Torchwood.....I have just learned that we are not ever getting it here. ABC which has aired Dr Who forever has declined buying Torchwood and SBS, which is our foreign channel has also declined. I actually am not disappointed at this because what I have heard about Torchwood, it is alot risque, even depraved and I would never let my kids watch it and I probably could do without the sexual stuff that I have heard is in it. Apparently our TV people did not think it worth importing it. I might download one ep just to check it out but I'm not sad it won't come. I am hoping that our TV stations [the two most likely, ABC or SBS] will import SJA. Perhaps ABC is waiting for it. Anyway I"m very proud that I was able to download SJA, put it on my thumb drive, transfer it to my daughter's laptop which has a DVD burner and burn it. I now have it on DVD. Watched it quite a number of times. Can't wait to download the series. I really liked it. I liked that Sarah was more like Sarah, unlike the Sarah that we saw in School Reunion. I always wondered why she never ended up with post traumatic stress disorder after all those near death experiences with the Doctor, but the way she is now seems to say that this is how it manifested. She is the old Sarah we all know [knew] and love [loved] but she is a bit unhinged. A bit unstable or paranoid. It fits. It seems right. I'm no longer unhappy with RTD's perception of Sarah. The only bit in the show I did not like was the line about there only being one man for Sarah and after him noone compared. It made it sound like she was actually in love with the doctor. I don't think so. Love yes, but in love, no. Have a look at Tom Baker. I don't think anyone could convince us that there was a sexual spark there. Admiration, adoration, love, yes. But that is it. Anyway, I loved the show and my kids really thought is was way cool. They can't wait till the series. Even if it never comes here.....who cares when you've got Broadband. LOL
